Teaching new mums everyday parenting skills

Parenting doesn’t come naturally to every new mum. It can be a very daunting experience taking a baby home and feeling scared and unsure what to do. Your midwife will be there to support you in the early days of your life at home with your newborn. But when this finishes you may still have questions or need help with your baby at home. This can often be the case at 3-4 months when you are trying to implement a routine or you’re finding your baby isn’t sleeping well, is grizzly and/or fussy.

I have had many years of experience teaching mothers how to care for their babies. When working closely with a new mother, I gently support her to become confident and assured in caring for her baby. This in turn helps with the bonding between mother and baby and sets both up to thrive.

By providing a 1:1 service in your home, I am able to help you become confident and assured also.

My advice and support packages include helping new mothers in a number of areas including;

  • Becoming confident carrying and holding your baby

  • Cues for hunger

  • Support and advice with breastfeeding and winding your baby including the use of breastfeeding supports like nipple shields

  • Expressing, breast care and storage of breast milk.

  • Bathing and dressing your baby

  • Cues for sleep

  • Sleep routines including clothing, swaddling, positioning, room temp

  • Bonding with your baby
